FAQ

R2B is designed to be lightweight and use as little battery and mobile data. In fact, feel free to close the app while you’re out on your activity and log back in when you’re ready to check-in. Be careful not to go over your activity duration!

On a serious note, we do not handle payments. All our payments are handled by the relevant App Store for your device. For payment queries or refunding please contact the relevant App Store.

Sure, if you want to see how R2B works this is a good way to do it. Not very practical if you are going on an adventure however!

This feature is only available to our subscribers. We allow subscribers to extend their activity by 15, 30 or 45 minutes. Please consider purchasing a subscription to help keep R2B up and running, without user subscriptions we won’t survive in this cruel cruel world!!

When your activity duration has elapsed we start an Escalation Process on ours servers. This involves marking your account as overdue and we contact your Emergency Contacts with your last known location (where available). As the Escalation Process runs on our servers there is no dependency on your phone being available, i.e we got your back when you’re out of battery or no mobile signal.

You won’t be able to check in, and R2B will start the Escalation process when your activity duration has elapsed by 5 minutes. The Escalation Process runs on our servers and does not depend on your phone being available.

No. Your emergency contacts don’t even have to know that they are your emergency contacts. However, we do advise that you let your contacts know. This is a feature that we hope to automate in the future

R2B is designed for this specific scenario. In the event you don’t have mobile signal, we will continue to countdown your activity duration on our servers. If you do not recover mobile signal we will start the Escalation process when your duration has elapsed by 5 minutes. It’s important to let your contacts know that you’re safe if your activity was escalated.

Correct, R2B requests a location just once when Track Location is not enabled. This gives a point of reference for your Emergency Contacts.

R2B is an acronym for Return to Base. Usually a military order to recover forces and return to base, whatever “Base” may be for the forces involved. We chose R2B as it applies directly to what our safety service is trying to achieve. Get you back to your base safely.
